So for the past while if anyone’s asked I’ve identified as “part-time vegan” - which is fine. However, I’m coming to the conclusion that I simply cannot justify supporting modern beef/chicken/pork/etc production processes.
So, as a step toward full-time veganism, I am declaring myself as a vegetarian from this day forward.
This is more for my own health than anything, but I also recognize the pain and suffering inflicted by modern meat production, as well as the toll taken on the environment.

This is a picture of the life as a female breeding pig.
The pig is not allowed to leave this cage, as you can see she have her food there and is not allowed to walk around, even when she has babies.
This cage is to make sure that the pig farms goes with as much profit as possible, because pigs kill their babies if they think that they live in a horrible place or if they are stressed. But these cages make sure that the mother can’t touch her babies.
Since she is not allowed out of that cage, her only exercise is when she stands up.
Most of the pigs have open wounds all over their bodies, since they are constantly laying down on hard floors.A pig is like a dog, they can live up to fifteen years if someone cares for them, but by living a life in these cages, they live about 4 years, if they are “lucky”.
This is what you are supporting by eating bacon and other products from pigs.
And to my Swedish followers, this is illegal in Sweden, but half of the farms still use this. But no one stops them.
Queen bees and alpha chimps aren’t voted into office, but that doesn’t mean they’re despots. Scientists have begun to view many animal species as de facto democracies, where majority rule ensures survival more than tyranny can.

“My family and I took a drive in Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta one evening,” writes Jenaya Launstein, “and found this adorable one-year-old brown-phase black bear cub climbing a tree while his mom foraged on berries.” The Alberta student found a hole through all the autumn foliage and used a Nikon D70s and a 70-210mm lens at its longest length to capture the scene.
