Unhappiness or problems cannot survive in the Now. Eckhart Tolle, Stillness Speaks (via christ-consciousness)
Do not be afraid to want a lot.
Things take a long time; practice patience.
Avoid compulsively making things worse.
Finish what you start.
Often people start out by thinking about all the things that they can’t do. Once you take that path, it’s very hard to get off of it. Shoot high and shoot often.
In this interview on The Great Discontent, the inimitable Debbie Millman (who is newly on SoundCloud!) offers five pieces of advice for young people starting out in any creative field – a fine addition to our running record of sage advice.
Complement with Neil Gaiman’s advice on the creative life and treat yourself to Millman’s sublime Look Both Ways: Illustrated Essays on the Intersection of Life and Design.
thoughts on Christ, balance, and the heart
here’s a thought for y’all:
It occurs to me that (Jesus) Christ represents that which is within all of us, and that each of us can BE how he was would we but bring balance to our life…
Christ is unity, love. Lucifer and Ahriman are the duality - right and wrong, good and bad, etc. etc.
Notice how we’re told that Jesus said we need to accept him in our hearts. Notice that the heart chakra is the centre chakra… Get out of your head, get out of your loins, be in your heart and find peace, love, and happiness.
sometimes you will lay on the ground.
your life will force you down, but it’s your decision, if you want to stay on the ground - or if you stand up and go on.
hold your head up high, and you will see the way, which is going to be yours.
and if you don’t see it - make your own way.
there are always possibilitys - but often you see them to late.
so live your life right now, maybe tomorrow is to late.
