embodyilluminati:

If you are one of those who are praying for, and looking forward to, a happier world beyond the grave, here is a message of gladness for you: you may enter into and realize that happy world now; it fills the whole universe, and it is within you, waiting for you to find, acknowledge and possess. Said one who knew the inner laws of Being. “When man shall say lo here, or lo there, go not after them; the kingdom of God is within you.” What you have to do is to believe this, simply believe it with a mind unshadowed by doubt, and then meditate upon it till you understand it. You will then begin to purify and to build your inner world, and as you proceed, passing from revelation to revelation, from realization to realization, you will discover the utter powerlessness of outward things beside the magic potency of a self-governed soul.

Perhaps men of genius are the only true men. In all the history of the race there have been only a few thousand real men. And the rest of us—what are we? Teachable animals. Without the help of the real man, we should have found out almost nothing at all. Almost all the ideas with which we are familiar could never have occurred to minds like ours. Plant the seeds there and they will grow; but our minds could never spontaneously have generated them

Good morning, Happy Friday!
I’m on a coach on my way to YYC this morning and will be in San Francisco for the weekend!  Unfortunately it’s not a vacation, however I will be spending the weekend with some fantabulous people!
I’ve never been to San Francisco before, but I will be going again in July, so hopefully I will be able to spend a couple/few extra days to explore the next time.

In its ritualism and monitorial lessons, Masonry teaches nothing in morals, in science, in religion or in any other department of human knowledge or human interest, not taught elsewhere in current forms of thought or by the sages of the past. In these directions it has no secrets of any kind. It is in the ancient symbolism of Freemasory that its real secrets lie concealed and these are as densely veiled to the Mason as to any other, unless he has studied the science of symbolism in general and Masonic symbolism in particular. When I looked at you, my life made sense. Even the bad things made sense. They were necessary to make you possible. Jonathan Safran Foer (via durianseeds)

Take criticism seriously, but not personally. If there is truth or merit in the criticism, try to learn from it. Otherwise, let it roll right off you. Hillary Rodham Clinton (from Living History)

Try to forgive by trying to understand how it would feel to be in the other’s shoes. If someone hurts you – ask them - “What hurts you so much that you would do this?” Listen to the answer and try to understand what is valid for them. They may have been fighting for your attention, but no one thinks of themselves as attackers, only defenders! So don’t judge their ways, only set them free by giving them a chance to speak. You may both learn a lot from your kindness and courage in asking for the truth. But even if nothing changes, release it, remember that you both have a right to be who you choose to be. When we make judgements we’re inevitably acting on limited knowledge, so ask if you seek to understand, or simply let them be! Jay Woodman

We are faced with a great inner transformation in nature. The natural gifts, natually inherited knowledge, traditional medicines, and so on, that have been passed down from ancient times are all losing their value. We need to acquire new knowledge in order to be able to enter into all the inter-relationships of these things.
Humanity has only two choices: either to start, once again, in every field an endeavor, to learn from the whole of nature, from the relationships within the whole cosmos, or to allow both nature and human life to degenerate and die off. There is no other choice. Today, no less than in ancient times, we are in need of knowledge, that can really enter into the inner-workings of nature.

signed a document to complete my divorce today. may have even resolved our parenting dispute as well - we’ll see what her lawyer drafts up.

looking back, I glad I chose not to hire lawyer, it would only have confounded the issue. t’was also a good opportunity for me to learn more about how our legal system operates.
